Here are some of the most frequently asked questions from clients.
1) What do I bring on a mountain biking trip?
These are self-suported trips, so you need to bring everything you would need to be self-sufficient in the woods. Half day and full day trips include a snack and lunch, and can be provided during a ride or after. Bring extra food, water, rain gear, extra tubes, etc. Our guides will have a set of basic tools, a complete first aid kit, a water filter, and extra food.
2) What if I cannot make it on a ride and other group members want to continue?
If for some reason a member of the group cannot contiune, one of the two guides will accompany them safely back to the car.
3) What kind of mountain biking trips do you offer?
We cater mountain biking trips to your individual needs and ability levels. We offer 1/2 day, full day, multi-day, and even night rides. We can do rides of any distance, rides that focus on more downhills, rides that have more single-track, rides that have long climbs, etc. Keep in mind that Pisgah National Forest is very challenging terrain and you will encounter loose rocks, obstacles, stream crossings, mud, and logs. We can pick easier routes both in Pisgah National Forest and in Dupont State Recreational Forest.
4) What is the minimum number of people on a mountain biking trip?
We can take as few as one person on a trip. It would be a personalized, custom route designed to their individual riding preferences.
5) What if I do not have a mountain bike and I still want to do a trip?
We will refer you to Sycamore Cycles or The Hub in Brevard, and Liberty Bikes or Kolo Bike Park in Asheville to rent a bike and all needed gear. If needed, we can meet you at the shop and help transport your bike.
6) Where do you meet clients before trips?
We meet clients in Asheville at the Asheville Visitor's Center, 36 Montford Ave. Asheville, NC 28801 and in Brevard at Sycamore Cycles of The Hub, which are both located on the corner of Hwy 280 and Hwy 64, the entrance to Pisgah National Forest.
7) What time do you meet for trips?
We can meet you at any time you would like, but usually around 9 or 10am, in order to finish your ride on time and get you to dinner on time.
8) What is your cancellation policy?
If you are unable to keep your scheduled trip, we are more than happy to reschedule within a year of your original reservation. Unfortunately, we do not offer refunds.
